Catherine Foxx

Ms. Catherine Foxx, 89, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Sanford, North Carolina.  

Catherine Foxx was born to the late Steve and Alice Fox on September 1, 1934, in Lee County, NC. She departed this life while resting peacefully at home on April 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Catherine received her diploma from Lee County Training School on May 26, 1953. She worked in the restaurant industry and domestic service for a number of years and was a faithful member of Robinson Chapel AME Zion Church in Lemon Springs, NC.

Cat, as she was affectionately called, loved her family, and she loved people. She gave everyone the best hugs and never met a stranger. She was an excellent listener. She loved cooking, doing word searches, crossword puzzles, and caring for plants of all kinds. If Cat heard you say “bye-bye,” she would make you pay her a quarter because she preferred “see you later” instead.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Alice Fox; one sister, Lois Foxx; two brothers, Jessie (Johnnie Faye) Fox and Steve (Doris) Fox and one great-grandson, RaQuan Hooker.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Barbara Foxx and Sheila Foxx, both of Sanford, NC; two grandchildren, Chavez Foxx (special friend Venita) and Christopher Foxx, both of Sanford; three great-grandchildren, Omarion Foxx, Jaevien Foxx, and Jaryon Evans; one brother, Fred (Rosa) Fox; and a host of relatives and loved ones.
