Mr. Jovan Erastus Gillam, 46, of Fayetteville, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Jovan Erastus Gillam was born on December 21, 1977, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Erastus Gillam Jr., and Elder Angeline Gore McLeod-Olasoji. On April 1, 2024, Jovan was called to eternal life.
Jovan attended elementary and junior high school in Youngstown, Ohio, and graduated from Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, SC. He attended college in Sanford, North Carolina. He worked for numerous organizations and group homes, sharing his gifts and talents in helping others. He enjoyed cooking, reading, driving cars, cracking jokes, helping others, and spending time with family. He shared his love and care with all who knew him.
Jovan was preceded in death by his father, Erastus Gillam Jr., his paternal grandparents, Erastus Gillam Sr. and Annie Lou Gillam, and maternal grandparents, Reverend Frank Gore, Thelma Gore, and Herman Peaks.
Left to cherish his memories is his beloved mother, Elder Angeline Gore McLeod-Olasoji (Samuel) of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Alexis Gillam of Campbell, OH, and Jamila Gillam (Markus) of Charleston, SC; two brothers, Jamar Gillam (Mary) of Houston, TX, and Dionta Gillam of Charleston, SC; grandmothers, Alberta Rogers of Youngstown, OH, and Christine Peaks of Cleveland, OH; two nephews, Jo’Von and Justin Bowling of Campbell, OH; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
