Valorie C. Sutton

Ms. Valorie C. Sutton, 71, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Westfield Rehabilitation & Health Center in Sanford, North Carolina.

Valorie China Sutton transitioned on Friday, March 29, 2024. She was born on February 14, 1952, in Hartford, Connecticut.

Valorie was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Sutton, mother, Marlyn Proffitt, father, Oliver Perry, and stepfather, Joel Proffitt.

She obtained her masters in social services also her license in Alcohol and Drug Counseling. She was employed by the Lee County Public School System & Parks and Recreation in her spare time.

Valorie was loved by all she touched. She loved old TV shows, she loved to read and do word search puzzles. She was a kind, sweet woman who loved her family. Valorie was a fighter, and she  fought until the end. She will be immensely missed by all who loved and knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Darius C. Williams of Hartford, CT, Joel Oliver Perry of Springfield, MA, and Christopher Perry (Shavonda) of Sanford, NC; her grandsons, Senya’h  Yasir Perry, Prinston Perry, Jo Vaughn Perry, and Joel Perry Jr.; her sisters, Carlotta Johnson of Rocky Hill, CT, and Allyson Pocknett (Douglas) of Mashpee, MA; a brother, Joel Proffitt Jr. (Velma) of Hartford, CT; nieces, Charm Azhia Williams, and Tara Johnson; close friends and the community she touched.

There will be no public viewing and the family will have a Celebration of Life on Sunday April 14, 2024 from 12pm-5pm @ San-Lee Park, 760 Pumping Station Road, Sanford NC 27330.
