Joanna Lynn Matheson

Ms. Joanna Lynn Matheson, 68, of Sanford, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst, North Carolina. 

Joanna was preceded in death by her Parents, Robert and Nora Matheson, brother Patrick and nephew Jeramiah. She is survived by her sister Amy Matheson and brother Benjamin Matheson. 

Joanna spent over 2 decades residing with her Easterseals Port Health family.

Jojo had a huge love for life. She loved animals, cartoons, coloring, puzzles and scary movies. Jojo loved all music. You could often hear Jo singing from her room while playing her records. Jojo had an incredible work ethic. She took pride in her work. Jojo had an incredible sense of humor and loved to play pranks on her friends. Jo will forever be missed.

There will be a celebration of life service on March 9th at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Drive, Sanford North Carolina.
