Ms. Shalethia A. Brown, 45, of the Jackson Hamlet Community, Aberdeen, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst.
Shalethia Annette Brown was born on February 28, 1979, in Pinehurst, NC, to John H. and Brenda Brown. She was the baby girl they had prayed for. Leta, as she was affectionally called by her family, was always energetic and she loved her brothers.
She attended Pinecrest High School and graduated in the class of 1997. She furthered her education at Johnson Wells Business School, where she received her diploma in Business/Travel. Shalethia used her degree at Comfort Inn in Southern Pines, North Carolina, scheduling golf reservation packages for several years. She was employed at Daymark Recovery Services as a Program Assistant for the ACTT Department until her health failed.
Shalethia loved bowling, basket making, shopping, and playing cards, especially UNO. She was good at beating her mother and her very special sister-in-law at this game. Shalethia was also known for great dance battles with “Just Dance.”
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Anthony (Tony), and a nephew, Tyrek Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memories, three beautiful children, Jania Dasha, William Robert, and Novare Tyrese, all of the home; her father and mother, John H. and Brenda K Brown of the Jackson Hamlet Community of Aberdeen, NC; her brother, Jarvis Brown (Cordelia) of Wilmington, NC; Martha Reels of Aberdeen, NC, Theresea Utley of Aberdeen; Lucy Tanner of Capitol Heights, MD, Carolyn E. Kelly of Brooklyn, NY, Flo Kelly-Foster of Durham, NC, Annie Mae Brown of the Eastwood Community of West End, NC; three very special friends, Kim Swinnie, Morgan O’Reilly, and Estella Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
