Ms. Shelia Loleta Criswell, 59, of Aberdeen, North Carolina entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Aberdeen, North Carolina.
Ms. Shelia Loleta Criswell was born on March 18, 1965, to Mrs. Betty Criswell and the late Mr. Horace Criswell, Jr., in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024, at her home in Aberdeen, North Carolina, surrounded by her family.
Upon her relocation to Southern Pines, North Carolina, Deaconess Criswell’s unwavering dedication and hard work quickly made her an integral part of First Missionary Baptist Church. Her tenure was marked by her service on the Finance Committee, where she held the esteemed position of Chair, her membership in several choirs, and her role as a musician for the senior choir. Most recently, she served as FMBC’s Chief Operating Officer, a testament to her commitment to her church.
Deaconess Criswell attended Moore County Schools, graduating from Pinecrest High School. Upon graduation, she furthered her education by attending Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, North Carolina and Rutledge College in Fayetteville, North Carolina, both of which granted her an Associate Degree in Business Administration.
Deaconess Criswell’s career at First Bank in Southern Pines, spanning over 35 years, was a shining example of dedication and success. Her achievements in the banking industry served as an inspiration to us all.
Deaconess Shelia will be dearly missed by her children, Kristen Brown of Duluth, Georgia, and Mr. Cameron Brown of Raeford, North Carolina; her mother, Betty Criswell; siblings Brian Criswell (Audrey) of Aberdeen, North Carolina, and Monica Criswell of Easley, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
